Asia Cup plan was at last declared on Thursday after a ton of dawdling. The competition will be played in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, in a half and half model as proposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board, from 31 August to 17 September, the Asian Cricket Committee has affirmed.
India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal will contend in a sum of 13 ODI matches.
Four Asia Cup matches will be played in Pakistan and the leftover will be facilitated by Sri Lanka.
Pakistan were the assigned hosts for the 2023 release yet India’s refusal to make a trip to the nation put a question mark over the mainland occasion. Later PCB boss Najam Sethi proposed a ‘cross breed model’ where some matches will be played in Pakistan and the excess in Sri Lanka.
